The Imperial Valley lies south east of San Diego and Los Angeles Counties and north of Baja California, Mexico. The region known as the Cali Baja Mega-Region is made up by Imperial County, San Diego County, and Baja California. The Cali Baja Bi-National Mega-Region is a globally unique bi-national location for business investments. The region is uniquely placed for  foreign trade zones, international distribution capabilities, bi-national alliances, and expansion of business and economic activity on both sides of the border.

The Imperial-Mexicali Bi-National Alliance (IMBA), established in 2013, includes a number of organizations in the region that work closely together in improving border infrastructure, economic development, and environmental issues. Along with our partners, IVEDC continues to create strategic relationships and contacts with Mexico that open California's access to trade and business with Mexico and greater Latin America.

CaliBaja encompasses the entire California's U.S-Mexico border region, including Imperial County, San Diego County, and
Baja California, Mexico.
With a combined population of more than 6.5 million, CaliBaja boasts the largest concentration of population along the U.S-Mexico border. CaliBaja provides access to the lucrative California and North American markets, is strategically located to access global markets in the Pacific Rim and is a gateway to the emerging Latin American markets. To read more about this initiative click here.
